Galvanic Field is a buff that increases your chance to Shock. After applying this Ailment to an enemy, the buff is removed to instead create a sphere around the target you've just Shocked that Hits enemies inside of it with lightning beams. The Spell itself cannot Shock, but it deals more damage the higher the effect of the Shock that created the damaging field was, so you will need a second Skill that can apply a powerful Shock. The effect of this non-damaging Ailment is tied to the Lightning Damage and is always applied with Critical Strikes, so in this case, with every Hit. You can easily increase the effect of non-damaging Ailments, but the most efficient way to do so with Shock is to equip Voltaxic Rift and use Overcharge Support Gem. Voltaxic Rift's Hits Shock Enemies as though dealing 300% more Damage, Overcharge Support works in a similar manner, but the effect is even more pronounced. Remember that you will deal Chaos Damage, so allocating Inevitable Judgement is pointless. Find a way to apply Withered debuff instead.

Due to the high Damage of the Voltaxic Rift, we recommend picking up the Instrument of Virtue for Battlemage and more damage. With Battlemage you'll have a lot of added Lightning Damage in all of your setups. That is imperative for Shock Effectiveness. For Critical Strike Chance get Righteous Providence. Sanctuary and Pious Path will regenerate your Energy Shield and grant basically a permanent Consecrated Ground bonus. To cause Shock, use a Cast-on-Crit setup that consists of a Spell that can instantly and easily Hit enemies - Arc seems like the best candidate. Add to that Lightning Conduit - a Spell that cannot Shock, but in a fashion similar to Galvanic Field, deals more Damage per Shock Effectiveness. This way you won't need to actually cast Galvanic Field while clearing maps. For an Attack, pick one that can be performed with Bows, preferably a Skill that fires many Projectiles or covers a large area. We recommend Rain of Arrows or Blast Rain. CoC setups usually require a lot of Mana. Here we've used Void Battery and Mind over Matter - combined with Inquisitor Keystoes for ES regen and Vitality you won't run out of ES, while still having 40% of it play its default role of a Life Pool.

1. Gameplay

Use Rain of Arrow/Blast Rain to trigger Arc and Lightning Conduit. If you need more Damage use Galvanic Field. It's excellent against single targets and for even faster clearing. Use Asenath's Mark Helmet to trigger the socketed Spell with each Attack - here we've put Lightning Warp linked with Overcharge to move much faster, and to enhance clear speed. For Auras we've used Wrath, Zealorty, Vitality, and Precision which is sourced from Hyrri's Truth. The two best Curses are Assassin's Mark and Despair, you will be able to apply both. The remaining sockets can be filled with Vaal Righteous Fire for more Spell Damage and Flame Dash or Molten Shell. To apply Withered debuff we've used The Balance of Terror, but if you don't have it, use Withering Step, or Spell Totems linked with Wither.

3. Leveling tips

You can't play CoC build from the start, it requires 100% Crit Chance with Attacks on top of other meaningful additions so it's only viable around level 80 or 90. To quickly level up, we recommend using our Templar Leveling Guide using Toems.

[DPS] Galvanic Field setup
Galvanic Field Galvanic Field - A buff that quickly enters its second phase - a dome that damages enemies inside of it. Use the Phantasmal version for more Area of Effect. It cannot Shock but benefit from the increased Shock effect.
Added Lightning Damage Added Lightning Damage Support - It simply adds Lightning Damage to each Hit.
Elemental Focus Elemental Focus Support - A plain bonus that grants more damage has no downsides here since Galvanic Field cannot Shock anyway.
Critical Strikes Increased Critical Strikes Support - Increases Critical Strike Chance.
Critical Damage Increased Critical Damage Support - Increases Critical Strike Multiplier.
Void Manipulation Void Manipulation Support - All of your Lightning Damage is converted to Chaos with Voltaxic Rift, Void Manipulation grants more Chaos Damage.
[DPS] Arc/Lightning Conduit/Rain of Arrows setup
Arc Arc - Arc is a simple Lightning Spell that Chains off of enemies instantly delivering Lightning Damage.
Lightning Conduit Lightning Conduit - Deals Lightning Damage only to Shocked enemies, cannot Shock, and removes Shock on Hit. Enemies will be Shocked most of the time anyway due to the Lightning Warp, Rain of Arrows, and Arc.
Rain of Arrows Rain of Arrows - Deals only around 10k DPS, but its most important function is making sure that each Attack Hits an enemy. Blast Rain Blast Rain can be used here instead - try both and select the one you're more comfortable with.
Cast on Critical Support Cast on Critical Support - It will trigger linked Spells when you Hit an enemy with one of the Arrows. Not both Spells at once, but alternately.
Void Manipulation Void Manipulation Support - If you don't have any other way to apply Withered debuff quickly and reliably, put the Withering Touch Support Withering Touch Support Here instead.
Critical Strikes Increased Critical Strikes Support
[UTILITY] Auras setup
Zealotry Zealotry - Increased Critical Strike Chance and more Damage but only for Spells.
Wrath Wrath - Adds Lightning Damage to Attacks, and grants more Spell Lightning Damage - you will benefit from both.
Vitality Vitality - Regenerates Life, and with Pious Path - Energy Shield, which is also your Mana.
[UTILITY] Lighting Warp setup
socketed in Asenath's Mark
Lightning Warp Lightning Warp - It teleports you. With Asenath's Mark, it will be triggered every time you Attack with 0.3-second Cooldown. It deals half-decent damage, enough to make it worth hooking up to Overcharge.
Less Duration Less Duration Support - Lightning Warp has reduced Duration which teleports you faster. It grants more Damage.
Swift Affliction Swift Affliction Support - It's another Gem that reduces Duration.
Overcharge Overcharge Support - With this Support Gem and Voltaxic Rift, the Shock applied with Lightning Warp will count as coming from an attack 990% more powerful than it actually is. That's more than enough to cause the Maximum Shock effect.
[UTILITY] Mark setup
Assassin's Mark Assassin's Mark - More Critical Strike Chance and increased Critical Strike Damage against Marked targets.
Mark on Hit Support Mark on Hit Support - Mark will be applied automatically with Attacks against Rare and Unique enemies.
[UTILITY] Despair
Despair Despair - Cursed enemies have reduced Chaos Resistance. If you have a proper version of The Balance of Terror, cast it yourself. It can also be cast automatically with a specific Ring affix.
[UTILITY] Vaal RF
Righteous Fire Vaal Righteous Fire - Grants more Spell Damage, especially if it's a Divergent version. You should be able to sustain it in its non-Vaal form.
[MOBILITY] Flame Dash
Flame Dash Flame Dash - With Instrument of Virtue, it's better to cast three Spells every 8 seconds for more damage. Flame Dash is great for that role, and it doubles as a mobility tool.
[UTILITY] Precision

Precision Precision - Use Precision for more Accuracy and increased Critical Strike Chance for Attacks and Spells.

6. Gear Setup

CoC builds require a 100% Critical Strike Chance for Attacks and enough Accuracy Rating to land nearly every Hit. Critical Strike Multiplier, especially for Spells, is a way to gain more Damage, alongside simply increasing Lightning/Chaos Damage, Attack Speed, or leveling up your Spell Skill Gems. For defenses try to accumulate Maximum Life, Energy Shield, and Armour. With Righteous Providence you may also want to get some Strength to increase your Critical Strike Chance, but Dexterity is one of the more important Attributes, as it is required to wield the unique Bow. Voltaxic Rift is the mandatory unique item. The price of it is usually somewhat high and hard to predict, especially at the start of a new league. Asenath's Mark is also required for the most optimal performance. The same goes for Hyrri's Truth and Mark of the Shaper. These uniques are cheap. Gearing up should be easy, all of the items are inexpensive.

Our recommended items will:

Asenath's Mark(Helmet) Asenath's Mark - It's the best-in-slot Helmet that increases Attack Speed, Spell Damage, Energy Shield, and triggers socketed Spell after you Attack with a Bow. It's where you should socket your Lightning Warp setup.
Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Attack with a Bow, with a 0.3 second Cooldown

Voltaxic Rift(Weapon) Voltaxic Rift - A Bow that has very high base Lightning Damage and increased Attack Speed. Its unique selling point is the 100% Lightning to Chaos Conversion, an ability for Chaos Damage to Shock, and +40% to Maximum Effect of Shock. A perfect weapon for a build like this.
